Tell us about your background in physiotherapy.
Having spent over 25 years in Vancouver, Canada, Kris brings a globally-minded approach to physiotherapy. His diverse background ranges from working with children in a multiregional pediatric clinic and conducting high-performance endurance athlete research at UBC, to completing a month-long exchange in South Korea focused on neurological and stroke rehabilitation.
After graduating from UBC with a degree in Kinesiology in 2018, Kris returned to Hong Kong to deepen his expertise in active rehabilitation and sports medicine, earning his Master of Physiotherapy from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has since advanced his practice with specialized training in dry needling and sports physiotherapy, with a strong emphasis on post-operative ACL reconstruction.
Krisβ passion for Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) began in 2013 at UBC, where he used the concept to optimize athlete performance. Over the years, he has successfully adapted PNF to help stroke patients regain mobility and to guide post-operative patients through gait re-education, jumping, and sport specific movements. Finding great fulfillment in this work, Kris continuously pursues advanced PNF training, with the long-term career goal of becoming an IPNFA-registered physiotherapist and instructor.
Additionally, given Canadaβs vibrant sports culture, Kris has undergone extensive training in whiplash and concussion management. He has treated complex whiplash injuries following motor vehicle accidents and provided concussion screening for hockey, football, and rugby teams in Vancouver. He routinely participates in seminars to stay at the forefront of evolving concussion research.
As a Hong Kong native who grew up overseas, Kris is excited to bring his unique international perspective back home. An avid athlete himself, Kris has fenced competitively and played varsity Ultimate Frisbee for UBC. He truly understands the athletic mindset and the vital role of proper rehabilitation. Whether you are a professional athlete, a weekend warrior, or looking to regain your daily independence, Kris is eager to help you reach your goals and live life to the fullest.
