Scoliosis (Schroth Method)
How can our physiotherapists help?
At our clinic, we offer the Schroth Method, a specialized, evidence-based physiotherapy approach designed to manage and treat scoliosis. Developed by Katharina Schroth in the 1920s, this method focuses on correcting spinal alignment through individualized exercises, postural awareness, and specific breathing techniques.
Unlike general exercise programs, the Schroth Method targets the three-dimensional nature of scoliosis, helping patients improve spinal posture, balance muscle asymmetry, and enhance lung function.
The goal of Schroth therapy is to reduce pain, prevent curve progression, and empower patients, especially adolescents and adults, with the tools to actively manage their condition. Because the method is highly specific and tailored to each individual's spinal curvature, it
must be performed under the guidance of a certified therapist trained in the Schroth Method. This ensures that exercises are done safely, correctly, and effectively for the best outcome measures.
